Ray of Light

Chasing sunsets is one of my many addictions and has become even more heightened during this era of Lockdowns.

I think this is because sunsets offer certainty in a wobbly world. The sun will set at a specific time, even if you can’t see it because of clouds.

Also, sunsets can be supremely dramatic but are never, ever the same.

I particularly liked this recent one because it offered a great sense of hope right to the very end and I feel that is something we all crave.

  1. This is one of my hobbies taking pictures of Sun rise and Sun sets and you’re right about no two being alike..I particularly like when the sky takes on different colors due to atmospheric conditions. The rays of the setting sun coming through the clouds is a special happening and does give one hope of great happenings…Your picture shows that …

  2. We surely all want a sense of hope! I am with you in regard to sunsets. When I have taxi passengers, I resist the urge to stop and capture the sunset, though it is a temptation! Depending on who my customer is, I will stop and take a photo of something, but rarely. And of course when I resist the urge to stop, I enjoy the memory of the beauty, etc.

      1. For sure! Today is a great day! Picking up our son at the airport!! Haven’t seen him for 1,044,000 seconds! πŸ™‚ 725 days! Can you tell we are looking forward to 4 months time with him!!
