Christmas Ads

We’re big into our Christmas ads in Ireland and this year the one which has captured hearts is that from the SuperValu supermarket chain.

As it happens, SuperValu here in Tramore is my main shopping place for groceries and the ethos of the chain is about supporting communities.

SuperValu in Tramore has been to the forefront of the Tidy Towns initiative which has seen Tramore been greatly enhanced and it is also very big into sponsoring local teams, especially in Gaelic Games.

I hope you like the ad:

  1. It made cry, it’s not happening here but we have the phones and group video..
We can see our boys or grandchildren because of being in tier 4.
I am sending you a silly advert because it cheers me up….here’s to better times!

    1. I feel a bit guilty now.
As I said in an earlier comment, family visits are being allowed on Christmas Day here but we are being strongly advised to change plans and cut contacts as cases are rising rapido yet again.
      Here’s to better times ahead!

  2. I liked both ads…I like the Folger’s coffee ad that shows the long awaited son coming home from the service and the scent of coffee awakes the family and Mom is surprised to find her son at home…I also like the Budweiser beer ads with the famous Clydesdale horses ..Another one that is memorable is the man riding along on the highway on his motorcycle and singing “Wild thing you make my heart sing” when in reality he is at customer service and she reminds him of the cost of the merchandise and in a gutsy voice she ends it with “Wild Thing”…this cracks me up every time it’s shown…We have an awards show for the top commercials and I usually watch that (they’re commercials from around the world)…
