I love the idea of today being International Day of Happiness. It really got me thinking about what constitutes happiness and I couldn’t come up with anything except a smile. The fact that Puppy Stan was very much in the mix while I was doing this pondering made me smile even more.

The song that sings happiness for me is this one from 1988:
So, may I send smiles beaming right across the world today ~ and I hope you’ll take one and pass one on.
The only true happiness comes from squandering ourselves for a purpose. (William Cowper)
Happy day to you too!!
Thanks a million!
Happy Sunday to you!
Happy day and lots of smiles to you and Puppy Stan:)
You make me smile even more, Olga. Hope your day is happy, happy.
Happy Day to you and what a gorgeous Puppy 🙂
Thanks so much.
He’s a bundle of fun, I must say, and knows how to spread happiness.
Enjoy your day too!
Happy Day of Happiness!
On another topic – the day is coming shortly when you will no longer be able to call Stan ‘puppy”. in fact that is being very conservative = the day may well have passed. 😀
Happiness to you too, Paul.
On the subject of Stan, I think he’ll always be ‘Puppy Stan’ just like a woman I knew who was ‘Baby’ all here life.
As long as he acts like a puppy, he’ll be called one and there’s no sign of any changes in that department.
I wonder what he thinks about it, now that you mention it. I never call him Puppy Stan in front of other dogs, just on case they tease him.
I still call Libby my puppy…she is 12ish. She will dance when I croon “puppy” to her. 🙂
Suz, that’s music to my ears and to Stan’s spanielly ones.
Wishing you more happiness than you can possibly handle! 🙂
WOW, that sounds wonderful, Frances. Thanks so much.
There should be a National Happy Day…Your as young as you feel…my song would be..” I want to be happy and I won’t be happy until you’re happy too”…I don’t remember who sang this song…
Hi Joni, sounds like a great song. I love the message it sends.
As for National or International Happiness Day, I’d much prefer to have it as International as the world is so small nowadays and we’re all interconnected in more ways than we probably even realise.
A whole day? And only one? What about the rest of the year? Why not let it go on perpetually. Then, the calendar would be to remind us that today is…today.
Here’s a yearful of Irish smiles, Van! ♥
@Jonibee : The song is called ‘I want to be happy…’ and sung originally by Sarah Vaughan in the 30’s or 40’s?
I remember the songs lines but not always title or who was the singer…Thank you the info…

Thanks so much for the link, Frances.
That should be an everyday, day..:) great song..:)
Hi George, there’s nothing stopping us from making it an everyday day, is there?
Not at all..:)
We’ll go for it so. Deal?
Deal😊
YIPEE!!
I’ve always loved that song!
Stan is awesome! 🙂
It’s a gem, isn’t it?
Yeah, Stan is the business alright!
The William Cooper quote is wonderful. It is so true that we are happier when we have a sense of purpose.
Hi Sheryl, yes I think it’s a great quote too. Life without a sense of purpose can be very difficult.
