Greet the Day!

Tramore was deserted this morning as the high tide greeted the day.

I was more determined than ever to see it this morning having met a very dear friend yesterday who is now feeling old age creep up upon her. She was once very like me ~ an early riser, a sea baby, a sports fanatic, dog lover and a great walker.

She was looking well but confided in me that the thing she misses most about ageing is not having the energy, balance and mobility that she once had to savour the delights of  Tramore which is her natural habitat.

The longing and memories in her eyes  were etched in my mind as I walked along the beach  bewitched by every single wave that hesitated ever so momentarily before breaking into a white foamy smile.

  1. This is so true time is relentless and we blythly blunder on forgetting what is really important until one day it is gone or we can no longer do it. Time and Tide wait for no man or woman come to that! Be well be happy but be quick. 🙂

  2. This picture reminds me of the song Ebb Tide…I can almost hear the sound of the waves crashing down and the rhythm of the surf advancing and withdrawing. Kind of like life looking to the future and going back to the past never staying only to pause if for a moment, because nothing ever stays the’s ever changing like the ocean.

  3. Oh, oh, I loved it when the waves looked like that Jean – the humidity is low, the air is super clear making the waves and all else look very crisp and sharp, a wind is blowing away any remnants of humidity and the sun seems to shine from the water itself. Typically it’s a bit cooler but so, so bright and sharp. Days that started that way are inevitably good ones. 😀

  4. What a bright and energizing start to your day Jean. May every day bring the opportunity to engage and appreciated life. Enthusiasm is the secret to never growing old!

    1. Val, thanks for your good wishes. I agree about enthusiasm being key but I think to love and be loved is at the deepest core and obviously a part of enthusiasm.
