The Copper Coast here in Co. Waterford is beyond special to me. It brings incredible peace but there are also haunting echoes of times past when there was a vast mining community based there.
Here’s how it looked yesterday evening as the sun was setting ~ I think of it as the glow and the after-glow.
Looks wonderful – the engine house is reminiscent of similar buildings on the Cornish coast
Thanks very much. Yes, I’ve seen engine houses in Cornwall and they have striking similarities.
I see them as serene, lonely, invigorating, and tranquil…
Joni, that’s beautiful. Thanks so much
What a colour has the field! Wonderful place, Jean!
Hi Dana, the field was looking amazing. I’ve taken it at all sorts of different times of the year and it just keeps changing, especially with the weather and time of day as well as the season.
So lovely! Thank you for capturing it Jean 🙂
You’re more than welcome, Val. Thanks for writing.
We really do live in a beautiful country. Lovely photos.
Tric, thanks for writing. So lucky to live in Ireland, especially Co. Waterford.

Hi Willow, nature is simply amazing!
Ahhh…. there is nothing like the magic hour! I just missed mine waiting for clients! Grrrr….
Share in my happiness!
Beautiful jean. Where does the name “Copper” come from?
Hi Paul, there was copper in the area and a big mining operation in the 19th century.
Beautiful photos, Jean 🙂 ♥ ❤
Thanks Jackie. Glad you like them. The Copper Coast is far more magnificent than I could ever portray with a camera.
