The Blending of Tame and Wild

Tulip and Valerian
Tulip and Valerian

The wild flower, Valerian, is in the process of taking over my garden and it makes me ponder on the ways in which all of us have both tame and wild sides.

The beauty and sensuality that emerges when these nudge against each provides a lesson in the art of creativity.

Such is the magic that greeted me early this morning in an old terracotta pot just inside our front gate.

How’s the balance between the tame and the wild in your life?

  1. I love this! Brilliant.
    Yeah, What Van said 😉
Seriously, I think there must be a certain mélange of wild and tame in one’s life – wouldn’t it be rather boring otherwise? I guess it would depend on one’s preference just how much of either they are comfortable with!

  2. Valerian might be pretty but I’ve got so much of it that it’s knocking down the walls in my terraced front garden, but I can’t blame a plant that is designed to grow on cliff-faces and needs to put down some pretty tenacious roots.
